Minister for Energy and Petroleum Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has tasked power utilities in the country to improve their services in the wake of the tariff increase and subsequent threats by Labour Union to ensure that consumers get value for their money.
The Minister who engaged Chief Executives of power utilities in a close-to-three hours meeting in his office at the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, drew their attention government�s commitment to improving the energy sector as well as its plans to ease the burden the tariff increase has brought to consumers in the country.
Hon Armah-Kofi Buah also charged the Chief Executives to ensure that their organisations to pay critical attention to complaints and comments by consumers on radio, social media and their call centers and factor them into their planning to ensure that their improved services are satisfactory to their consumers.
The Chief Executives after their encounter with their sector Minister pledged their commitment to support government to improve services in the power utility sector, though admitting that the recent tariff increase did not meet their expectations.
They also pleaded with Ghanaians to be patient with them as they are committed to providing them problem-free services in the power sector.
