A member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Food and Agriculture, Bright Demordzi, says despite challenges in the agricultural sector, it has improved tremendously over the years.
Speaking to Radio Ghana on the performance of the sector, Mr Demordzi supported his assertion with statistics.
He said the sector increased cereal production last year by 15.8%.
Mr Demordzi agreed that the performance level can be sustained if government pursues irrigation of the areas earmarked for the purpose.
Demordzi stressed the need to improve infrastructure and storage to take care of the surplus.
