The Commissioner of Insurance, Mrs Nyamike Kyiamah, has presented an operational licence to Priority Insurance Company Limited, a subsidiary of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals, to commence insurance business in the country.
Making the presentation, Mrs. Kyiamah said the company had been taken through the necessary checks and had met all the financial, business and operational requirements to commence work.
She said Priority Insurance had become the 24th non-life insurance company, out of the 42 insurance companies in the country.
She urged the company to strive and make a mark.
The Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Mr Samuel Amo Tobbin, said the mission of Priority Insurance was to provide unmatched world-class risk management solutions to meet the insurance needs of the public through the use of the state-of-the-art technology.
He added that it was also to increase shareholders� net worth, as well as meet the expectation of all other stakeholders.
He said the company would operate on sound business principles, with emphasis on the highest standards of integrity and effective and efficient management.
