JOHN DUMELO ON HIS POSSESSION OF GOV'T TOYOTA V8
************************************************

DOREEN ANDOH: Did you take a government car?

JOHN DUMELO: I will never keep a government car; I’m not a government official so I will never keep a government car. I bought the car from somebody. I bought it, so at that time I won’t say it’s a government car or not a government car. Somebody came and said it’s a government car that I have, so I said: ‘Fine, if it’s a government car, keep the car. What is a car?’ …After that happened I bought a new car.

DOREEN ANDOH: Did you get back to the person you bought the car from?

JOHN DUMELO: Yea. I got back to him. We are fine. We have resolved it and moved on...

DOREEN ANDOH: Did the person say it was a government vehicle.

JOHN DUMELO: This car saga is something that when it happened, [Fumbles]I was like: ‘It’s something that has happened so if somebody says it is theirs they should just keep it...In 2010 I bought a car, 2011 I bought another car, 2013 I bought another one, in 2015 I bought another one, so it’s something that I can afford. So when this happened, I said let them take it because of course they were going around saying ‘we will seize your car’. ...It’s a car, I let it go. You can have an accident tomorrow and the car is damaged, so after all I said: ‘To hell with it’, I bought myself a new car and moved on.

ME: John Dumelo, you are really a kind man and real philanthropist to have given a Toyota V8 away just like that without fighting for it. Even this my second-hand vehicle koraa, if someone tries to touch it, we shall wear the same shorts.

Anyway, you did not answer whether the one you bought the vehicle from admitted it was a government vehicle or not. You also left the me wondering whether the vehicle in question had documents and in whose name was the vehicle you bought registered? Was there any change of ownership from that person to you? Why was the vehicle being sprayed as alleged? Did it have dents or you just needed to change the colour? And Finally, FROM WHOM DID YOU BUY THE V8?

Please, I am a curious Ghanaian who wants to know. This was an opportunity to have brought a closure on the matter, but you have left a lot of questions begging for answers.

Note: John Dumelo was hosted by Doreen Andoh, host of Joy FM's Cosmopolitan Show today, July 11, 2017.
