I side with the Leadership of Church of Pentecost [COP] and others who support the idea but my second thought is...I believe that outright ban will not help.
I suggest the leadership should place limitations instead and enforce it through the elders who are responsible for the various or individual branches as a measure of monitoring...where potential couples must be told to provide pictures should they opt to communicate to the public in such manner about their upcoming program during their counseling hours.
The why is, some of the pictures are good, welcoming and are innocent for this judgment.
I think the church should remember that most of the era's upcoming couples fall in the age bracket of the YOUTH. The youth today have a bigger family across the World, thanks to the positive side of Social Media and such Pre-wedding pictures and videos are means of reaching and getting the attention of all who matters (the bigger family & friends).
The economist would say, “All Other Things Being Equal,” I believe considering both the good and the bad side of everything...it will be unfair and shall be a great disservice to the innocent to be couples and the wedding planner. Especially the case where the latter want to make sure that the young to be couples hit the best ever joyful moment of their life cycle.
From my point of view, I humbly request that the Leadership of our noble church (COP) should reconsider their decision.
Arguably, placing a limitation on the matter at hand is a sure amicable way of settling the issue than a perpetual ban.

Anybody at all gets up and writes something. Membership of a church is voluntary so if the church issues a directive to its members I do not see how that becomes a matter for ***barred word*** persons to comment on. When moslems insist on their their girls wearing hijab, I do not see anyone writing articles on that. So why do people have issue with a Christian organization admonishing its members to be morally correct and decent?
THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN MR BOAKYE,HOWEVER I DON'T THINK THE LEADERSHIP IN THEIR STATEMENT SAID THE HAVE PLACE A BAN ON IT. THEY SAID IT SHOULD BE DONE "MODESTLY AND DECENTLY" AND NOT INDICATING THE WOULD-BE COUPLE ARE ALREADY COUPLES.
Thank you for your great concern. The leaders of the church want to get the best for the church but a total ban truly disturbing.
I hope you don't mean to tell the church how it should be ran. We have spiritually discerning men and women of God leading us and so we don’t need the 'world’ to show us how to conduct themselves in the church of Christ which is a pillar and ground of Truth. We are very happy with the directive from our leadership.
COP has not banned the subject matter. They are rather doing what you are talking about. so please do a bit of research before writing on issues. As a politician, i think much more research before coming out with your views will help. you could even talk to any of the elders of the church for these information. Thank you.
This writer up reminds me of my class 3 brother writings! Are you calling for censure ship on would-be couples? On the other hand are those the only kind of pictures that could be shared on social media for friends and family to follow ? Boss chill.
Mr writer, COP did not ban pre-wedding pictures but limitation instead. thank you
your write doesnt make iota of meaning. But i believe you can reread the COP statement to have a much clearer understanding of the meaning. Probably it will help you write a more coherent piece(PS: no malice intended, just a critique of the piece)
