Why?
This evening, I am asking why? Why is it that no Ghanaian bank has crossed the boundary and established in other African countries or the UK, Europe, Asia?
But banks from Nigeria, South Africa, France, etc have established in Ghana? Why is it that we cannot name indigenous Ghanaian private sector companies that have been in business successfully for more than 50 years?
Why do we prefer state-owned or foreign-owned to Ghanaian owned? We can’t allow our neighbors or school mates or “friends” to succeed?
Why is it that when a Ghanaian company faces challenges, the answer is close it, make noise and disgrace the owners? Aren’t challenges meant to be solved? And we wonder why we continue to import everything? And wonder why the Cedi cannot match the pound or euro or dollar?
Why do we think that Dangote, Elumelu, Buffet, J P Morgan, Bill Gates did not face challenges or make mistakes on the way up? What if their companies had been vilified and closed when problems showed up?
So what if we stopped using the Cedi every time it lost value significantly against the dollar? What would we do?
And what if we banned political parties every time they lost an election? What would happen to NPP and NDC?
Why do we love sweet words, and those who promise “milk and honey”, no losses, no hard work, no problem and instant wealth yet live in these difficult conditions?
More to come. I am not done yet!

When you campaigned against John Mahama in 2016, the results is what you have now
Ghanaian business man will never accept there is problem even if the problem is clear and they want to come in resolve you will say no there is no problem company. So that is what is killing the Ghanaian companies because they don't always want to accept a problem.
Yes we can blame the governments now and before. But also blame the business men who don't believe in concept of going concern. They manage their business as if today is their last. They don't want to make profit before they chop. They chop their working capital and depositors funds. Build houses, buy big cars when the business is still in its knees. I hope you managed yours differently cos that's not what I heard.
This is sad. I always thought this gorvenment will bring us honey and milk. How do we indeed shore up our dollar reserves when foreigners rather have their businesses all over the country making the monies and "shipping" them to their respective countries. What is wrong with Ghana. I am very disappointed in Akuffo Addo. Where is the one district one factory. Where is the industrialization. I thought these industries will produce made in Ghana goods. we can use and import most of these items to shore up our dollar reserves. Do our politicians loose their mental faculty once they get power or we the citizenry just have to think of alternatives? I am sad for Ghana. The north Korean president was right. we need to be colonized again because we don't be have like human beings.
Needless show of political power and hate are responsible for these self destructive actions. All your questions are relevant but you have failed to be straight forward and direct them appropriately to Nana Addo and his govt. It's only under his regime that we have seen all these catastrophic phenomenon happening to our businesses especially those in the banking sector despite all his sweet promises to make the private sector buoyant :seven banks closed down and a whole ADWUMAWURA downgraded to SUSUWURA. What a shame!!
Nduom is not particularly innocent, you know.
In addition to doing that to ourselves through self hatred and centuries of dispossession with it's effect on our psyche where we cannot see ownership as a viable position, we also have become averse to our own products and believe what is out there is better, all through brain washing for centuries. There are politicians who are also sending the profits of their companies into banks overseas. How then do they effectively ensure the issues identified for the currency instability? Again where do African leaders and businessmen stash their stolen wealth? It's not in Ghana or the continent, but in tax and financial havens and in the West, who just gladly confiscate them as proceeds of ill-gotten wealth all to the detriment of everybody. There's nothing wrong with embracing foreigners in a partnership. However, it cannot be to the dispossession of your wealth which has been the case for 100's of years where the tools of division, self hate and esteem, and plunder are employed to strip us of our wealth. It's about time the brain cells given to us begin to work as the blessed people of God.
Yes Dr Nduom you said it all. We embrace foriegners more than ourselves that is why cedis keep falling, every business would love to send profits from his business home.
You followed Akufo Addo who appear to be incorruptible, competent a friend to the business man. Now you see, he doesn't care anymore. He has collapsed businesses including your bank, turned a blind eye to corrupt practices, and he and his team have no clue to solving the economic challenges facing us. But do you have any idea how much money they are starching away?
You helped to come to power ask them you have not seen anything yet
