Governance, just like life, isn't a bed of roses. The path to a more successful destination is strewn with challenges, some unforeseen whereas others are expected.

Political parties are elected to solve problems. If that were not the case, there would hardly be any need for the good people of Ghana to go to the polls to elect people to lead them.

The NPP has never been oblivious of the myriad of challenges the people are facing. It is against this backdrop that the Akufo-Addo administration has effortfully tried to deal with all the challenges bequeathed to it by the Mahama administration.

Dumsor, clearly, mollified Mahama and his charges and their poor handling of the situation culminated in, amongst other factors, their humiliating exit from office.

The phenomenon has been dealt with by the current administration. Notwithstanding the several measures introduced to suppress dumsor, it would be dishonest to believe that pockets of intermittent power outages would not rear their ugly heads.

These minor setbacks get the needed attention, hence the short time frame used to retire them. What we are experiencing in some parts of the country cannot be equated to John Mahama's obnoxious dumsor.

Dumsor scourged Ghana for over four years, setting it apart from what we are seeing presently. Clearly, Mahama's dumsor was the Goliath amongst the family. None can be compared to it.

The NDC has been strenuously overstitching themselves in an apparent move to equate the challenges we are facing with dumsor as it existed under Mahama.

The seeming challenge is not something out of the extraordinary. Pipes are being connected so that in future we don't wake up to witness that our lights are off.

As if that were not enough, they seem to pray with fervency for real dumsor to embrace us. They are looking beyond the repercussions that would arise out of a continuous power crisis just to win votes.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo hit the nail right on the head when he said that these NDC folks are preoccupied with the next elections and not the next generation. Ghana should burn if that would gift them the power they lost.

They love to see businesses collapse so as to benefit politically. The love for power for these NDC folks far exceeds their love for Ghana.
