Through the individual effort of Mr. Chuck Kofi Wayo, children of school going age in Akakpokope would soon have access to quality education. Over the past decade, children in the remote village have had to travel to nearby villages to access standard education.
The practice has however stalled them from experiencing formal education and this has had a negative effect on them.
Touched by the plight of the children, Mr. Wayo has decided to help them by building a school block for them.
Over the weekend, Mr. Wayo was personally in the village to inspect the project which was started some years ago and to contribute financially to expedite the completion of the project.
The head of the village, Mr. Augustine Lumor Akakpo in an interaction with Peacefmonline.com was grateful for the support the Mr. Wayo has brought to the village.
He called on other philanthropists and politicians to emulate the deeds of Mr. Kofi Wayo by helping under resourced villages.
“Some years ago, Mr. Wayo was passing by and he saw our village. He doesn’t hail from this place but decided to come and build a school for us. He has paid for all the expenses and I urge all others to emulate him and help villages in need”, the head of Akakokope said.
