The National Coordinator of the Computerised Schools Selection and placement System (CSSPS), Mr Kwasi Anokye, has given the assurance that difficulties being encountered by parents in printing their children’s senior high school and technical institute admission forms from the Internet would be resolved.
He said parents had more time to print out the forms since the admission process ran from October 7-30, 2016, stressing, “There is more time to print the forms and go to school and so they should be patient”.

Large number

He said the difficulties were as a result of the large number of candidates going online to print their forms, and that the Ghana Education Service (GES) was aware of this and was taking steps to address the challenge.

“As I talk to you, about 65,000 people are online trying to print their forms. Parents should be patient because as the days go by, the pressure would come down. Every year that is what happens,” he said.

Withheld results

He also assured those who have passed and their results released later by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to be patient, since they would be placed.

“These were part of candidates whose results were withheld, and we just got their data,” he said.

A total of 437,958 Basic Education Certificate Exams(BECE) candidates have so far been placed in senior high schools and technical institutes across the country.

The figure represents 95 per cent of the 456,398 candidates whose details were submitted to the CSSPS by WAEC.

The 456,398 candidates represent 99 per cent of the total number of candidates who wrote the examination.

Parents and their wards complain every year about the quality of placement after the release of the postings, but the coordinator has given the assurance that the system that was introduced in 2005 to electronically post junior high school graduates to the various senior high schools using their raw score, has been enhanced to guarantee an incident-free placement this year.
