A letter sighted by DAILY GUIDE, which emanated from the office of the Registrar (Central Administration), University for Development Studies (UDS), has revealed that 17 students of the institution have been asked to go home.

Thirteen of them gained admission to study BSc Nursing, one was to pursue a Midwifery programme and three for Community Nutrition.

Information available to DAILY GUIDE indicates that management took the decision because it was established that the affected students did not have the requisite senior secondary school certificate examination results.

The letter, dated May 22, 2018 and signed by the Registrar, Dr. A.B.T. Zakraia, reads in part, “I write to inform you that you have been withdrawn from the University for not possessing the qualification by virtue of which you have been offered admission…..

“During the verification of results from West African Examination Council (WAEC), you were found not qualified to be admitted.”

It further states, “You are therefore required to leave the University upon receipt of this letter and hand over any property of the University in your custody, including students’ ID card, to the Senior Tutor of your campus. “You are also required to return any library materials in your custody before you leave the University.”

The university warned that failure to comply with these directives would leave it with no other option than to set into motion the due processes to recover the items.
