Government is encouraging local medicine manufacturers to go into the production of Anti-Snake Venom to make it available to forestall shortage of the medicine in the country.
Efforts are also being made to training and equip health personnel to adequately monitor the use of the snake serum at health facilities.
A Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Alfred Sugri Tia said this when he appeared on the Floor of Parliament to answer questions which stood in the name of the MP for Salaga North, Mumuni Alhassan on the plans by the Ministry to increase the supply of Anti-Snake Serum to rural districts which are recording frequent snake bite cases.
Responding to the question Dr. Tia told the House that the Ministry has put in place measures to increase the supply of free serum to the rural areas.
