Mr Benjamin Kweku Essel, Assemblyman for Nyarkokwaa and Sarkwakwaa Elecroral Area in the Awutu Senya District Assembly has appealed toNADMO to assist the people following the destruction of their homes and a school block after a rainstorm.
He told the GNA in an interview on Tuesday that a heavy down pour destroyed about 58 mud houses and the junior secondary school block and this has compelled pupils to hold classes under trees.
Mr Essel said the people, who are predominantly cocoa, maize and cassava farmers, would need a feeder road to cart their goods to marketing centres.
He said the only 10-kilometre road from Kofi Ansah to Sarkwakwaa constructed through communal labour is almost unusable because of potholes and erosion.
Mr Essel appealed to the government to provide beds in a clinic built by the European Union and in addition post medical personnel to the clinic.
