Former Inter Milan forward Christian Vieri and Italian tennis ace, Mara Santangelo arrived in the country yesterday to lend a hand to the Charity for Hope Project, an initiative by Menaye Donkor Muntari.
On arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, Vieri, one-time worlds most expensive footballer said, I was touched by the Menayes effort at bringing hope to the less privileged in the country, hence my visit.
He indicated that his presence could make a huge impact in Menayes charity campaign, having witnessed the successful charity Dinner in Italy a few weeks ago.
I am really excited to be associated with this charity project and looking forward to meeting the kids of the School of Hope. Education as you are aware is very important, and I hope to encourage them to take it seriously after my visit.
His counterpart, Mara expressed joy to be in the country and considered meeting and playing with the kids at the school as duty.
The School of Hope is a charity project by Menaye, wife of AC Milan star Sulley Muntari intended to help provide quality education to the underprivileged in the Central Region.
It also seeks, among other things, to improve the lives of those in the region. The project has positively affected the lives of over 500 children by way of education so far.
Menaye praised the two icons highly for availing themselves to support her and to serve as inspiration to the kids considering their humble beginnings.
