The Electricity Company of Ghana has rejected reports that two of its technicians have been electrocuted while on an assignment.
A video circulating on social media suggested that the incident happened in Ghana while they were working on an electricity distribution network.
But the ECG in a statement denied such reports, stating categorically that “no such accident has occurred on its network anywhere in its operational area.” It therefore advised the general public to ignore the said video.

The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited wishes to inform the general public that its attention has been drawn to a video circulating on social media about two technicians involved in an accident whiles working on electricity distribution network.
The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to state categorically that no such accident has occurred on its network anywhere in its operational area. That the Company’s technical staff strictly adheres to safety procedures at all times.
The general public should therefore ignore the video which might have occurred in some other country.
