The First Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Madam Anita Disoso has expressed her disappointment in the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo. over the way and manner he has handled the request by former President John Dramani Mahama to keep his official residence at Bungalow No. 3 Prestige Link, Cantonments and its adjoining facilities as his ex gratia.

According to her, there was discussion between the former president and Nana Akufo-Addo and so it was disgusting the way and manner the issue was handled.

She however expressed her happiness that, Mr. Mahama has officially withdrawn his request to bring an end to the matter.

‘’I am extremely happy that former president Mahama has withdrawn his request because of the bad faith on the part of government. Mr. Mahama signed the withdrawal letter himself…If you had had a discussion with the former president and agreed to his request, but later came out to deny because of pressure from party supporters and members, it’s up to you. Now the president has withdrawn his request because you acted in bad faith.’'

Madam Anita Disoso in an interview with Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm on Tuesday hinted of mobilizing women to go and protect former president Mahama because the NPP were planning to eject him.

The outspoken politician in her submission on Tuesday said, ‘’Parliament has approved the request by the former president but if the NPP still insist they do not want to occupy the Australian House and still want the one being occupied by former president John Dramani Mahama, then they should go and eject him.

"They should dare eject him…If they have the effrontery, they should go to the residence and eject Mahama because they will be digging their own pit and not ours. Anyways, by the time they will get there, I would have mobilized our women to protect the former president.

"When they finish killing us, then they go ahead and eject him. They want to embarrass him. They should go ahead and embarrass him. Is that not what they want to do? We do not have anything to say to them but we are waiting for them. They should come over to his residence, we are waiting for them.’’

But reacting to the withdrawal letter from Mr. Mahama, Madam Anita Disoso said, this will end the attacks and unnecessary comments against the president who acted in good faith by only making a request which was duly granted but because of political influence, his request was turned down.

She also rubbished claims by some critics that, the NDC did same to former president Kufuor insisting, the former NPP leader was allocated a residence at Trasacco Valley but turned it down.

Why not the ex-president go for the Trassaco house, madam Anita who I have never seen laughed before. She and Koku always speaks with anger on any matter concerning NPP and president Nana Addo. I wish the inauguration videos are played for them to see how former leaders were embracing each other at the independence square. Please change before one day you fall down of heart attack ooo

The issue is not about Nana, it is Ghanaians who are crying for Mahama to withdraw his request. As a statesman you should wait or lobby for it. After all the President is fine with you but not to dictate to Ghanaians what you want. An Excellent drawback. You are to wait to be given or asked where you like not to dictate to Ghanaians what you want. After all it is a privilege not obligatory. You are one of the President who did not struggle to become one. You were picked by Ex-President Mills to be his running mate and unfortunately he died for you to take over. You did not go for 2 or 3 times as others did. So Please count yourself lucky if you have been a President for this country. Why did you copy Asantehene for your withdrawal. Did you consult him when you decided to keep the Vice Presidents Residential house. Lordina and your babies with sharp teeth did not advise you well. Even you Anita Disoso was throwing a serious warning instead of advising him.

God save our souls if we have such leaders leading our country. She is clamouring for sale of the country to politicians. Do teachers who go on retirement buy their teacher's bungalow? why are our politicians so greedy? This poor country with meagre resources yet politicians think the country owe them for serving and must pay them till they die. Even rich nations dont build houses for ex-presidents but pay for their monthly rent whatever house they buy after leaving office. Serve not to be served. ***barred word***

There are 2 decisions that former President Mahama took during his tenure which makes me wonder what his thought process is. The first was the decision to accept the Ford car when he didn't need to. The second is his decision to ask for his official home as his retirement home after Kuffour was lambasted for choosing his office before government offered him one (one of the low points of his presidency). If the next president wants the Flagstaff (Jubilee) house as his retirement home should he be given the home? It was needless for the president to ask for the property in the first place. Presidents should stay in their own homes after serving. After all how many homes does a person need? Only one!!!
