A Vice Chairperson of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita De-Soso has urged women to have a high positive opinion about men as the world marks International Women’s Day today, Wednesday, 8 March.
She explained that – “If you are dealing with a man and you want him to respect you, you must first show him that respect to have it back. Women must respect and pamper men, by so doing men will be willing to guide us [women] in all endeavors.”
“Women, we are the neck and men are the head, we must support and respect them to get that back from them,” she added in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day celebration is: “Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030”
International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
The idea of this year’s theme, according to the UN, “is to consider how to accelerate the 2030 Agenda, building momentum for the effective implementation of the new Sustainable Development Goals, especially goal number 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls; and number 4: Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning”.
The UN hopes by the year 2030, women will be equal to men in all spheres of human endeavour.
However, Madam De-Soso believes women can equal men’s endeavour if they hold men in high esteem – “if we respect them, they will teach us.”

Madam you have made my day. Ghanaian men agree with you hundred percent. Please keep educating the up and coming women to tow this line and they will never regret it.
Very ***barred word*** women like u are not part. u dont talk like a real woman
@And who pampers women. Trust me. Many women from many African countries are chasing after Ghanaian men. Pray that you will not fall a victim if ur husband travels
Is this wisdom coming from experience as ....... or life in opposition?
I'm all for treating my man right and pampering him, but Ghanaian men are chauvinists and think they're entitled to this treatment without reciprocating. In fact, at those moments when you, the woman is in need of emotional support and pampering the man won't mind you and reminds you that he has a string of ladies lined up who will gladly continue pampering him!
Ei Anita De Sosoo, enti s33 nyansa w) wo trimm saa? Herrh! I can't think far!
Opposition is gradually making people think like humans, no position is permanent in life now she know her smoothness level so she thik before talking
This woman Anita De-soso is making a lot of sense. She has reformed dramatically. Madam please keep it up.
hahahaha indeed opposition teaches wisdom
