Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama, has resigned.
Dr Asiama, who was appointed by the Mahama administration, according to sources, has opted to take his accumulated leave and will not return afterward.
The reasons for his exit are not yet known.
His tenure was supposed to have ended in April 2020.
Dr Asiama’s resignation comes nine months after his former boss Dr Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku, resigned as Governor shortly after the Akufo-Addo government took office.
