The Akim-Oda Police have arrested 10 university students who were allegedly contracted to write the ongoing West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) for some candidates of the Placid International School at Oda in the Eastern Region.
The suspects are said to be students of the University of Ghana, Legon, University of Cape Coast, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and University of Professional Studies, Accra.
Three others from a private institution, Star International School, were also arrested for the same offence.
They were arrested after the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) examiner at the centre suspected them of not being students of the school.
According to the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Office, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, the 13 suspects have been charged with impersonation and would be processed for court.
