Vodafone Ghana has joined a number of corporate organisations sponsoring this year's Ghana Journalists Association Awards.
This year's event, which is its 23rd edition, provides a platform to celebrate brilliant and deserving journalists in various categories of reporting in the country.
The telecommunications company is sponsoring the ICT and Digital Journalist of the Year category; viewing it as a direct linkage to its core business of technology and telecommunications.
The year's event explores the theme, "State of Investigative Journalism - Boundaries of Privacy and Borders of Public Interest” and will take place on October 27, 2018 at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. Ghana's President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour.
Commenting, Ebenezer Amankwah, Corporate Relations Manager at Vodafone Ghana said:
"The business we are in relies heavily on the work of the media in our storytelling efforts. They remain a very important part of what we do. We regard our partnership with the Ghana Journalists Association as an ongoing relationship that continues to yield benefits for both parties."
Vodafone donated a cheque for GHS10,000 for the journalist that will emerge the best in that category.
