Fredrick Opare Ansah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, has expressed the government’s commitment to develop Zongos at Suhum due to the poor state of some of the communities there.
Opare Ansah urged the residents to have faith in the Akufo-Addo government, as measures were in place to resolve the challenges facing their communities.
The MP made these known when he addressed Zongo chiefs during a gathering.
Also, he affirmed that discussions had been held with NADMO and the Ministry of Works and Housing to help stop flooding in the communities at Suhum when it rains, as river bodies in the town overflow their banks.
Again, he indicated that talks with the Zongo Ministry to channel the Suhum riverbed had reached an advanced stage.
He, however, advised residents of the Zongo communities to rid their communities of filth, which most of the time find its way into the drains and choke them.
