The Ashanti Regional chapter of the Ghana Union of Traders’ Association [GUTA] has debunked claims that they are the brains behind the attacks on Nigerian-owned shops at Suame Magazine on Wednesday.
The association’s spokesperson, Albert Mensah Offei in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ said they will investigate the issues and “we will also involve the police.”
Police and military personnel had to be deployed to maintain order at Suame Magazine after irate traders ransacked the shops insisting they will evict all Nigerians who are still engaging in retail trade in the area.
Their ‘uncultured’ actions were caught on camera.
