President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson.
The former Foreign Secretary was elected by the Tories on Tuesday to replace Theresa May, who left office last month.
He beat competition from current Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
Ghana’s leader, who is also a former Foreign Affairs Minister, stated on Twitter that he is looking forward to working with Mr Johnson.
“Best wishes for his success, and I look forward to working with him to strengthen the already strong ties between our two countries.”
Boris Johnson, who was once a Mayor of London, is the Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
He last visited Ghana in February, 2017.
