President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed KPMG, the reputable Audit, Tax and Advisory Services firm, to conduct an immediate audit into the transaction between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilization Ghana Ltd (SML), a contract which was entered into to enhance revenue assurance in the downstream petroleum sector, the upstream petroleum production and minerals and metals resources value chain.
The Terms of Reference of the Audit are as follows:
i. conduct an audit to ascertain the rationale or needs assessment performed prior to the contract approval by GRA, and assess how the arrangement aligns with specific needs;
ii. assess the appropriateness of the contracting methodology, verifying compliance with legal standards and industry best practices in the procurement process for the selection of SML;
iii. evaluate the degree of alignment between current activities and the stipulated contract scope, identifying any deviations;
iv. evaluate the value or benefit that SML has so far offered to the GRA through this engagement;
v. review the financial arrangements, including pricing structures, payment terms and resolution of any financial compliance issues; and
vi. submit a report on your findings on the above, together with appropriate
recommendations.
President Akufo-Addo has tasked KPMG to complete the assignment in two weeks, and submit appropriate recommendations to him.
The President has directed the Ministry of Finance and GRA to provide KPMG with whatever assistance they will require for conduct of the audit, and has also directed the Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Revenue Authority to suspend the performance of the contract, pending the submission of the audit report, including any payments presently envisaged under its terms.

Epitome of catastrophic failure
The most disappointing president of all time, the Greatest of All Time (Goat) of disappointments that ever happened to Ghana. All he knows is appoint people and sack them and make these public to pretend that he is in control. Should it take the President to appoint an Auditor? The Ministers can't make such decisions? If it takes the President of the nation to make such calls, then it shows the level of propaganda and incompetence with this Akuffo-Addo squad. Clueless by birth, corrupt by nature, greedy bast4rds by operation and incompetent in DNA. This is not an NPP government. Never was never will be. This is simply the Akyem Mafia that have overtaken the NPP. And NPP should never bring an Akyem as Presidential Candidate again.
Too little too late. Just pack your things and go.
Ah @Dan Infact you have nailed it right on the spot. I always tell people if there was someone who live to see Nana addo as President other than himself I will say it’s me. I used to get goosebumps whenever I heard his voice prior to his presidency. I was late for my brother’s wedding because I was so glued to my seat and tv watching his inauguration I wept and shed tears of joy. But today my disdain and contempt for him is immeasurable Why should you deliberately hurt us For once in my life I pray for NDC a party I hate with every pint of blood in me to win the election even though I can’t vote for them. I just want NPP to lose just at they will have a feel of the pains we are suffering. Should they win ? It’s going to be worst than what we are seeing and it’s the same ministers that will continue
Hahahaaaa, asem oooo. The Ghana Revenue Authority ( GRA) is directly under the ministry of finance where your cousin ( Ken Ofori Atta) is the sector minister. Undoubtedly, he should be aware of this contract between the GRA and SML. As the president, if you had listened to wise counsel and reshuffle your ministers immediately after you won your second term, some of these alleged scandals would have reduced if not avoided completely. I keep saying that if Ghanaians had no trust and confidence in Akuffo Addo, there was no way Ghanaians would have given him majority of their much cherished votes for him to become president knowing very well the advantages of occupying the highest position in Ghana. Unfortunately he (Akuffo Addo) has squandered a golden opportunity to have made history for himself and the larger Akuffo Addo family. His trust level is at it's lowest ebb and anything directive now on any alleged scandal in his government will be seen as a mere window dressing. I will be surprised if it comes out that Akuffo Addo has never been briefed about such an important arrangement at the initial stages, considering the fact that this arrangement has to do with national revenue, the life blood of the nation until Manasseh uncovered this agreement. If so, then he's not on top of his job. When you allow your appointees to stay at one particular position for 7 years running, why won't they see the office as their personal holdings and do as they wish. Did former president kufour commit any error when he moved Akkufo Addo from the Attorney General and Justice ministry to that of foreign affairs as a minister? When a leader thinks his wishes and views are more superior to the views of the 30 million people he rules, this is what happens. I want to believe the reality is now having a telling effect on the president thus this directive. I thought he should have issued a statement that " Such threats don't frighten me " just as he told the people of Kwabre east who gave him 86,000 votes in the 2020 elections, the highest recorded in any constituency in that year (2020) elections. The president should ask his vice who is from the northern part of Ghana. The people of the north have a saying thus " When you take cooked beans from the cooking pot, you immediately put sheabutter oil when the beans is still hot to enable it melt. If you allow the beans to cool and you now put shea butter oil, it can't melt". This is what is currently happening to our man. Any reshuffle now will not yield any positive results. Majority of Ghanaians wanted this man to have made history, unfortunately what the people were thinking is not what he was thinking , the results of what we are witnessing. Finance, Defence, Interior, Foreign affairs, Roads and highways, Transport, National security, Health (Trade and industry and Food and agriculture) but for the fact that Allan and Owusu Afriyie Akoto resigned, they would still have been in their respective ministries for 7 years running. How? Don't sack them, just move your ministers around and this one too "wahala " for you? Ahhyi. Hmmmm.
