Another fire in Accra on Sunday morning prompted many to ask why the nations capital has been suffering such outbreaks in recent times.
According to a Joy fm report, the early morning fire outbreak, which gutted the Ring Road branch of the Ecobank in the Fidelity House building, struck at about 5.30am yesterday, raising the tally of such disasters in Accra this year to a new level.
The bank is said to have lost office equipment and critical documents as a result of the fire whose cause is yet to be ascertained.
Watchmen noticed signs of the fire as early as 5.30am yesterday and activated the necessary procedures when such occurrences take place.
The extent of the damage was not enough to stall banking activities which is confined to the floor that houses the administrative offices, leaving the treasury of the financial institution unscathed.
