Mr Kwaku Agyemang Manu, the Member of Parliament for the Dormaa Central Municipality, has called for a new policy initiative for the poor and under privileged to address their concerns and national development challenges.
He said such a policy initiative could deal with their social protection issues and address inequalities.
Mr Agyemang Manu said this during the launch of the 1999 Dormaa Old Student Association(DOSA) of the Dormaa Senior High School in Dormaa – Ahenkro.
He asked the old students to form a network to share and exchange ideas about how to advance the course of their alma mater and ensure their mutual benefit.
Mr Gordon Asubonteng, the Municipal Chief Executive, said the formation of a vibrant old students association came with numerous benefits for its alma mater and members.
He called on the old students to stay abreast with trends and developments in their school to enable them explore ways of assisting them.
Mrs Margarete Octhere Pomaa, the Headmistress of Dormaa Senior High School, thanked the association for coming to seek the advancement and welfare of their alma mater.
He appealed to other old students to emulate their example to help solve the numerous problems confronting the school.
The association later presented a wall clock to the school
