Master Andrews Dugan, a Form Two Student of the Ajumako Besease Senior High School, last Friday drowned in the sea at Winneba when he went swimming with four of his colleagues.
The Winneba District Police Commander, Superintendent Godfrey Tetteh Adjirakor, made this known to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, on Tuesday.
He said sometime last week Dugan and his colleagues arrived in Winneba to watch the Inter-Schools Games Competition.
After the event, they went to the Winneba Beach to swim, however, in the process, the current of the sea carried Dugan away.
According to the Police Commander, the friends went to report to their teachers and then later reported the incident to the Police.
Supt Adjirakor said Dugan’s body , which was washed ashore at Winneba, the following day, had been deposited the mortuary of the Winneba Municipal hospital for autopsy, while the Police investigations continued.
This is the second drowning case within three days at the Winneba Beach.
A Level 400 Student of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Bright Osei Adjaye, drowned in the sea on Saturday, February , 20 when he went swimming with his friends to celebrate his birthday.
