A day old baby boy who was abandoned at a public cemetery at Mpintsin in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis has been rescued and is now receiving treatment at a private clinic in the community.
Mr. Kofi Hackman, the Good Samaritan who rescued the child, told the media in Takoradi on Monday, that he was attending to nature’s call in a nearby bush when he heard an unusual noise from the cemetery.
Therefore, he said, he became alarmed and traced the noise to the place only to discover the baby boy wrapped in a polythene bag, and lying beside a tomb.
Mr. Hackman said he raised the alarm, which attracted some neighbours to the scene, who assisted him to untie the polythene bag and rescue the baby.
Madam Sarah Edith Kwofie, the Chief Executive Office of the Clinic, said the baby was responding positively to treatment.
Meanwhile, the Police have instituted investigations into the matter.
