The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has debunked rumours that it has cancelled the WASSCE results of certain schools.
A message circulating on social media platforms indicated that the examination body had cancelled the results of some schools including Adisadel College, Aggrey Memorial School, Krobo Girls Senior High School, Accra Academy, Osei Tutu Senior High School as well as that of Twifo Praso Senior High School for allegedly engaging in examination malpractices.
But a statement signed by the Deputy Director of Public Affairs at WAEC, Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, discredited the reports.
It said “The Council wishes to state emphatically that it has not cancelled any WASSCE results neither has it issued any statement to that effect.”
It further urged the public to disregard the alleged statement as it was not emanating from the Council.
