The former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Rt. Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey is confident Ghana is now on the right path for accelerated development.
According to him, President Nana Akufo-Addo as a “wise man” with the right policies and strategies to transform the socio-economic conditions of Ghana.
“There are so many wise men in the country and we have gotten one to lead” he told Adom News in an interview on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the fourth Republic of Ghana at the Black Star Square on Saturday.
The former Presby Moderator said he was critical of the erstwhile Mahama-led administration because “The previous government did not minimize its mistakes. He bemoaned how government appointees took men of God and other people who were in politics to the cleaners when they point to their errors.
“There are wise people in this country who are not in politics that does not mean politicians should take us for a ride”.
Prof. Martey maintained that, the seeming endorsement of the Akufo-Addo-led government will not cloud his judgement.
‘I am a servant of God and I am obliged to speak the truth. God saw what was happening to us in the past, we spoke against it and we were insulted. We thank God he has listened to us. Some of us will speak today, tomorrow and in the future against ills of society,’ he stated.
He appealed to “all wise men [country] to rally behind him [Nana Akufo-Addo] to make our nation great”

THIS MAN CAN NOT BE A TRUE SERVANT OF THE GOD WHO CREATED THE WORLD. HE IS NOT READING THE BIBLE I GUESS
Prof., I don't know your definition for wise man and I don't think you are inferring that John Mahama is a ***barred word*** man. But remember that Abraham Lincoln said " you can ***barred word*** some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you cannot ***barred word*** all the people all the time." Also, "the voice of the people is the voice of God" though sometimes it is the voice of the devil. Does this mean that all the fracas you were having with the government then was because of his foolishness? I don't think this statement should come from you. You speech should be laced with more reconciliation than divisiveness. I pray for unity of Ghana.
