About 100 youth, believed to be sympathizers of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), went berserk Monday breaking into rooms of occupants at the Kwame Nkrumah Flats at Laterbiokoshie in Accra.
But for the timely intervention of the Police, they would have forcefully ejected occupants of the flat, Starr News’ Daniel Nii Lartey reported from the scene.
The rampaging supporters have given occupants of the facility tomorrow Tuesday, January 10, to vacate the flats or face their wrath, he added.
Some occupants who spoke to Nii Lartey said the supporters threatened to beat them when they tried interrogating them, revealing they were sympathizers of the Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration.
The action, according to them, was in retaliation of what the now opposition, National Democratic Congress, did in 2009 when they took over power.
Meanwhile, others stormed the Tema Habour in the early hours of Monday demanding to be given control of some key installations there. The errant supporters are demanding that all national security operatives manning the Golden Jubilee terminal, Reefer and Atlas yards be withdrawn for them to take over.
Starr News sources at the port say the supporters have been hanging around the place since Saturday, when Nana Akufo-Addo was installed as president of the republic.
The Tema Police command is reportedly in the know of the development and are working to restore normalcy.
There were similar reports of vandalism in Tamale as some supporters locked up some offices of the Youth Enterprise Agency.

WHERE IS THE PEACE COUNCIL IN GHANA WHO WERE SO LOUD DURING THE ELECTION.GOD HELP US.
arrest any ***barred word***
hhahahahahaha. this is just the tip of the iceberg. GOD SAVE GHANA. we shall all remember Mahama one day and either cry or laugh.
I am disappointed about this development. did we vote you to come and maintain the statues quo or to do things in the right way? Ghana is not for NPP and NDC supporters alone. If only supporters of these parties are to vote none of them would get the needed 50 plus 1 vote to win an election. they should know that the deciders are the well meaning floating voters who are watching. Please, we do not want the statues quo that is why there has been a change of Government so please, this kind of politics must stop. This political arrogance and the insults have started like it was. President Akuffo Addo must show us that he is in control. We are watching, four years is not too long.
You guys are condemning the NPP boys, NDC after losing elections on December 7, they chose to fill every position they could think of in every institution within the transition period (30 days). They did these so as not allow any position for NPP to recruit their followers. So in this instance, what do you expect the NPP boys to do?
This is annoying ,depressing and worrying. This irresponsible behaviour must stop immediately. What are the security services doing? Please arrest and prosecute them. If all of us as NPP members decide to do this countrywide, there will be chaos and anarchy. Common ,we are not in the jungle. I am very upset. Those wrongfully occupying positions will certainly be relieved of their post and those qualified maintained. This cyclical no..nsence must end now.If you love NPP and want us to succeed please stop this unnecessary revenge now.
...crime is looming...
