Former President John Dramani Mahama has said Ghana's leadership speaks volumes about its achievements to the world.
This he said shows how proud the world is of Ghana and Ghanaians which makes him extremely proud of every Ghanaian.
In a Facebook post last Thursday after his appointment by the United Nations to co-chair a session on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) with the Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Norway, Mr Mahama spoke of how “humbled” he is by the appointment.
“My appointment as Co-Chair of this select UN group also means that Ghana will be able to attract more foreign investments, which in turn will help boost the economy thus, significantly more jobs will become available for Ghanaians,” he added.
Read the post below:
“I am Co-Chairing, together with the Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Norway, a group of sixteen Sustainable Development Goals Advocates to support the Secretary-General of the UN in his efforts to generate momentum and commitment to achieve the SDGs by 2030.
“I am humbled by this appointment. To me, it speaks volumes about Ghana’s leadership on the path of sustainable development. It proves not only that we are on the right track, but also that we lead the way. The world is proud of us, and this makes me extremely proud of each and every one of you!
“My appointment as Co-Chair of this select UN group also means that Ghana will be able to attract more foreign investments, which in turn will help boost the economy thus, significantly more jobs will become available for Ghanaians.
“This is the future we all fought for, and I am honoured to be your leader in this fight! “God bless you all! God bless our Mother Ghana!”

GOD BLESS GHANA,GOD BLESS JM!! #MAHAMALEGACY.
That's good news. Forget aba your haters who will insult u even on this
Go high JM, Go high. Very soon you will become UN General Secretary.
FYI, Mahama has been co-chairing this group for a while now. Meanwhile over the last 5yrs, FDI to Gh has DECLINED by some 66%. So how is his continuing to chair this group as former Prez going o bring foreign investment to Gh. As Ghanaians, it may make us feel proud about ourselves. But that is it. Nothing more.I see Mahama bidding for the presidency in 2020 and claiming without basis that even as former Prez he brought foreign investment to Ghana!
What happened to the MDG goals to be achieved in 2015? Was it nit the failure to achiev the MDG goals that led to shifting the goal post to the so-called "SDG" to be achieved in 2030? Has anyone question how money has been sunk into this project? Has anyone question the lofty targets that are set to be achieve within these time frames? To me, the targets are not achieveable and needs to be revisited. They need to be streamlined to make the targets region specific other that pushing these targets as common agenda for all. Am pessimist that 2030 will fail and lots of money and resources wasted as 2015. They will come and tell stories, and set another target for another 15 years that will be achieved. So Mr. President, don't jubilate yet in occupying that position. Go back and read the EFA report for 2015, and question what went wrong. Be guided that in all the targets that were set within that time frame, acheievements so recorded in the name of Africa was abysmal and pathetic. Am sorry, you need not be happy now!
