The Multimedia Group has apologised to New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the two representatives who were denied participation in the broadcaster’s flagship news analysis show, Newsfile, on Saturday.
Host of the show Samson Lardi Ayenini had remarked that the two gentlemen who had been nominated by the party to represent it on the show did not meet the show's production standards.
However, The Multimedia Group wishes to state that the comment by the Newsfile host was not intended to denigrate the two individuals nominated by the NPP to represent it on the show.
Below is the full statement:
This comment by the host of Newsfile seems to have hurt many people and has generated a controversy.
The intention was not to denigrate the person of those who the NPP chose to represent it on Newsfile yesterday.
The decision on who appears on any of our shows rests with the editorial team and we would stand by those decisions.
However, we apologise unreservedly for the use of words that suggest that the two gentlemen are not up to the standard.
We apologise.

Pls Sampson publish your standards so we can ascertain if indeed those two gentlemen were substandard, this is pure arrogance, we have listened to newsfile long before you, because of champion Kweku Barko.
Truth when tried to skewed exposes ones intended hatred. Sampson, now your moves are suspect.reflect for your own integrity.
Multi Media must just publish the standards they use in selecting the panelists to their newsfile show. that is the only way we will be able to determine how others get selected. Otherwise, they must be ready to deselect some of us too as listeners!
The only reason why we continue to listen to your program is because of Mr Baako, he is not a lawyer like you, don't even know his level of education but is there anyone among your panelists who could compare himself with him, not even the so call later days lawyers like you ,
Eiii, Sampson, ve you forgotten your days in Ksi, when did you passed out from law school, and being a lawyer doesn't make you superior over other professions, Sampson, you ve hosted professors when you didn't even qualify to clean their shoes, isn't surprising that we are where we are as Ghanaians, coz we ve placed too much premium on certificates, what about common sense, I bet you there are lawyers in this country who are ***barred word*** like u, what kind of sense does Amaliba make when he come to news file, is good to put on your political garments, we ve seen the like of you before , but when offered the opportunity it was total failure, examples are not far fetched, Stan Dogbe, Suyhini, and many other s
Hahaa! They were substandard people
NPP should boycott that self imposed "elicits" programme and let us see it's popularity in the next six months, and NPP should demand the withdrawal of Samson as a host as a condition to return.
Sampson allows the likes of Kwakye Fosu and Ablakwah to be panelists on this show to insult Nana Addo but finds these two representatives of NPP unfit to be on the show. This is so unfortunate and hypocritical. Sampson is gradually loosing his credibility as a careful observation shows how he guides NDC panelists in their submissions on the programme. No wonder he is counsel for these NDC parliamentarians. Nowadays, I use the time for the live show on something else but later watch on ***barred word*** due to Kwaku Baako. The irony of it is the horrible pology issued by multimedia. Shame on you.
This is bullshit!! This is not different from ayariga's arrogant apology rendered to the August house. All Sampson did was to deny those two guys the chance to challenge that mistake deputy attorney general. They are buddies and we all saw that during the show. I thought Samson was different. No wonder he represented ablakwa during their lies to the August house. Massa put on ur colors for us to make it clear to us than hiding your link. You can be their attorney general in future so be bold to join them in politics, brother!!
Folks in fact this Anyeniyi chap is beginning to piss me off. Why is it that these Northerners all of a sudden develop a huge chip on their shoulders the moment they get a little recognition?Another one of those mongrels was on the same show bragging that when it comes to contract law he is without a peer. The cheek of it and yet still they went and signed a contract that is totally of no benefit to Ghana. If you are too good to entertain certain individuals on the show the beauty of living in a democratic society is that we can tune in to CitiFM;s 'the Big Issue '.Umaru Sanda is a nicer guy.And Ayenini ought to know that many of us listen to that programme because of the impeccable input of Kweku Baako. After all Adu -Asare appears on the programme so who can't.Wise up and and eat some humble pie.Or..............
