A fruit seller, stationed at Kasoa has lamented how she has been unfairly treated by the police after being hit by a stray bullet.

Peace FM, in one of its news bulletin, reported how the Kasoa based fruit seller; Caroline Osei still has a bullet lodged in the left side of her stomach.

According to her, she was hit by a stray bullet when some police men in the community exchanged fire with some suspected armed robbers, at Kasoa precisely Nyenyano Kakraba on 9th of October 2017; but have since been left to her fate.

She lamented that all efforts made to seek some support from the police have proved futile. She recalled in one of her visits to the Kasoa Millennium City Police station, an officer at the station told her "nothing can be done about the issue".

" . . I was told to get myself treated using my own resources since they (police) have no funds to dole out to me . . . that my frequent visits to the police station will not yield any positive result," Caroline recounted.

Meanwhile, a Doctor at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where the victim was hospitalized for some days after the incident before being discharged, said the medical team were uncomfortable with performing surgery on her because it was not safe.

" . . earlier, the Doctor pointed out that the current position of the bullet is dangerous for surgery to take place . . . but now, I've been given the all-clear sign and asked to prepare for surgery on Monday, 4th December," the victim revealed.

Meanwhile, there has been no positive assurances from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection regarding her plight, despite having sent a petition to that outfit.
