The Leadership of the Christ Apostolic Church of Ghana, has called on all religious organizations, civil society groups and individuals to unite and rise up strongly against attempts by some few people to impose homosexuality on the country.

Apostle Abraham Amoh, Chairman of the Church said it was time for all faith-based organizations, civil society and pressure groups to come together against the clandestine activities by some foreign governments and neo-colonialists to pressurize the Ghanaian government to legalize this “demon imposed act” on the people.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, Apostle Amoh described lesbianism and homosexuality as a “canker affecting human minds to act negatively to God’s righteous order”.

He said Ghana as a country had its own unique culture, norms, laws and religions which were respected by all.

It is therefore important that, the people rose up and fiercely fight any attempt by self-seeking individuals and neo-colonialists to impose any act which was inimical to the moral values, traditions and culture of the people.

He said it was time such people were made to understand and respect the values and cultures of the people.

Apostle Amoh wondered if the laws, norms and other state policies in the United Kingdom, would ever allow any man to indulge in polygamy, adding that, the country does not allow polygamy because its citizens were against it outright.

He cautioned parliament which was the people’s representative never to entertain any act that sought to amend the country’s laws in favour of homosexuality in the country.

On the issue of illegal mining activities, Apostle Amoh lauded the government for its resolve to address it.

He called on chiefs and people in mining communities to support the government in its efforts to curb illegal mining activities in the country.
