The killing of a pastor of the Assemblies of God church in Tema Community 4 has sparked an intense online debate over religion and the promises it makes to its followers which never seem to get fulfiled.
The pastor was stabbed to death in church, the house of God, whilst preparing to come out and deliver his usual Sunday sermon to his congregation. A man of God being killed in God’s own house is surely a cause for alarm about what benefits one accrues from being a Christian that is unavailable to the believer.
Founding Editor of ghanacelebrities.com, Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri, has queried his followers about the use of a God who promises one protection but can’t protect his own messengers in his own house?
Writing on Facebook, Chris said, in that case, God is as useless as lipstick on a pig because he really gives his followers no special protection than others.
Check out his post below…
Anytime God, I mean the Abrahamic God is given the opportunity to show his might, he woefully disappoints. Yet he makes so many promises and claims which mounting evidence contradict. This same God says at 2 Thessalonians 3:3 through his chosen man that “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
Yet when evil looms against his people, he fails to show up.
Today, at church, a place where he is said to dwell, one of his men, was stabbed to death—and he did nothing about it. The pastor faced uncommon evil, and he didn’t honour his promise.
Why be friends, let alone worship a God who does not keep to his promise to you? Why keep yours to him then?
A God, a delusion of credulity!
The evidence all point to the fact that, the conception of a God is our infantile attempt to understand our universe and it is entirely wrong.
We are animals, belonging to the genus homos, one of many species that once existed and now the others are extinct. We are nothing special—and have no relationship with any God.

May God forgive u for all that. God never promised us a trouble-free world BUT He said he's with us even unto the end. Is He the first servant of God to suffer persecution? Where was God when Jesus was been crucified? Where was he when John the Baptist head was cut off? Paul, John, Stephen and most of God servants went through a series of trials to the extent that some were even fried in hot oil. Does that mean God is not powerful? Do we ONLY serve God for protection in tyms of difficulties? The bibles say we shouldn't fear the one who kills the body but we should fear the one that kills the soul. My brother no good Christian will blindly accept any bit of what you're saying. The son of God himself went through it. We Christians believe if he served God well, He's only going to sleep till we meet again on that resurrection morning so don't let some of these crimes and trials force you to speak blasphemously like this because God is Alive and taking account of everything we do. READ MATTHEW 24:9-13 An Unfinished Business As the year races to an end, let’s reflect on one unfinished business—You! You’re an unfinished business. A work in progress. A masterpiece pending approval. God isn’t finished with you yet. You’re still under construction. So, don’t be discouraged when you see only broken pieces, rough spots, and detours in your life. The Divine Engineer is up to any challenge, and He’s more than willing to fix what is broken—if you allow Him. Here’s the assurance: “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). It’s God who took the initiative to start His work in you; He won’t stop “—until the day of Jesus Christ.” Yes, the unfinished will be finished! The broken will be fixed, the rough spots will be leveled, and the crooked places shall all be straightened. Right now, you’re still under construction. You’re God’s work in progress. Day by day, moment by moment, He is re-creating His image in you, so you can fully reflect the matchless beauty of His character. Until Jesus comes again to take you Home, there’ll not be an end to your growing. There’ll always be things to learn and unlearn, always some work to do and do well, and always areas in your life to become or overcome. You’ll remain an unfinished business—until that day, when the King of Glory will echo the words of the Man of Calvary: “It is finished”—only this time, the declaration concerns the good work He’s begun in you (cf. 2 Timothy 4:6-8; Revelation 22:11-21). We’ll always be unfinished business, because character development is an unfinished business. We can, however, speed up the process by cooperating with God to finish the good work He’s begun in us.—Samuel Koranteng-Pipim. Matt 24:9-13 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. KJV THANKS
Chris my brother, it is very difficult to understand why somethings happen at all.......you may have a point in asking why of all places, it is the church that the head pastor preparing to go preach the word of God in the house of God will be stabbed without God doing something..........The Bible tells us, the word of the Bible is "foolishness" to those who do not ascribe to it", Above all, my brother, THE VERY MINUTE WE START TO UNDERSTAND GOD, HE SEIZES TO BE GOD".......He alone knows and understands what he does, should he make us to understand him as and when He does things, then there is no need to depend on Him. Have you asked yourself, how come somebody involved in a very serious accidents survives, whereas someone also loses his/her life in a very minor accident....However, we will understand it by and by.......For in all things no matter how difficult it may be, we are to trust Him and thank Him for all things as it will not have happen if it was not according to His will.......No matter what, a homo sapien was the creation of a hand and that hand has the power and authority to do with that handiwork as it pleases Him.............The killing may seem very out of place, but should we understand why it did happen now, you would have understand why the good book tells us, "ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD, TO THEM THAT LOVE THE LORD"........This may sound absurd whiles the Pastor's wife, kids and church members are in pains......But beware in the last days........
Chris-Vincent’s post tells me he has been deeply traumatized by the brutal de ath of the pastor at his (Pastor’s) church premises. Yes, sometimes painful events can make us question where our God, in whom we trust, is. Our questions doesn’t make God any less, they only lead us to surrender again, after being completely broken. And by the way, who said lipstick on a pig is ***barred word***? It charms the pork eater😂😂😂
Situations like this were when Apostle will stand out. He will tell you how futile your thoughts are and the reason not to die in those thoughts. Instead of condemning him and using all kinds of words. Why can't we tell him why he's wrong....
I think this man doesn't knw wat he is saying. May God Almighty forgive u and may He cause His face to shine upon u so u will see great things God can do. We can't understand God dats y He is Almighty, no one understands what He does. Bro Chris pray to God for forgiveness and He will listen to u b4 its too late.
You can't put a 10 gigabyte item on a 2 gig.I understand his frustration with God but you can't meet God on your own terms.God is real for those who have really met him
I THINK THIS MAN IS NOT NECESSARILY A BLASPHEMER. I RATHER SEE HIM AS SOMEONE WHO IS MUCH MORE PIUS THAN ALL THOSE CONDEMNING HIM. HE CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE MOST POWER GOD SHOULD ALLOW EVIL TO PREVAIL OVER HIS OWN WHEN GOD CAN EASILY PREVENT THE EVIL FROM HAPPENING. HE IS RATHER TOO PASSIONATE FOR HIS RELIGION. THAT IS HOW I READ IS MESSAGE.
talking like that bcos he doesn't know or understand the scriptures. he needs prayers and teachings and will be alright. God forgive him... that shall not judge .
Chris, I pray that God shd not hold this sin against you but course u to repent.pls come to your senses
And that is why we as Christians are advised to stay away from scoffers and mockers of the word of God and the gospel. Psalm 1:1 gives us clear instruction about how to deal with scoffers: "How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers". The progression of unbelief begins with listening to ungodly counsel and ends with joining the scoffers. The Bible warns us not to entertain the company of those who actively ridicule our faith, or we risk having that faith destroyed. Proverbs 13:20 says, "Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of ***barred word*** will suffer harm" Second Peter 3:3 warns us that "in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires" (cf. Jude 1:18). We know from Scripture that scoffing will only increase as we near the time for Jesus' return (2 Timothy 3:1-5). We already see it happening with the blanket acceptance of evolutionary theory that excludes a Creator, the rapid expansion of false religions that deny the deity of Christ, and the numeric explosion of those who identify themselves as agnostics and atheists. Scoffers have always been and will always be present in the world. But there is coming a promised day when "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:10–11). On that day there will no longer be any scoffers.
