The attack on the Odorkor branch of the church, was the youths’ way of expressing their fury against some prophecies made by the leader of the church during Monday’s watch night service.
They threatened to deal with Rev Owusu Bempah till he comes out to apologise for the ‘prophecies of doom’.
They destroyed the signboard at the church premises before heading into the main auditorium.
In reaction to the attack on his facebook page, Rev Owusu Bempah quoted from Matthew 16:18 which says "...I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it".
"Let’s pray for the church and let’s be strong as Christians," the post added.
The controversial prophet made several predictions during the 31st December service in his church, noting that several prominent men, including an ex-president and a former first lady, would die in the course of the year.
The prophet also stated in his revelation that a National Islamic funeral beckon which would be the funeral of a Vice President of a sitting president and a Chief Imam, if nothing is done to avert the doom.

My simple solution, let ALL media houses BOYCOTT these so called pastors. If their so called prophesies remain within the four corners of their premise who else will hear them apart from their gullible congregation. As all the media fraternity came together to fight the destruction of our forests and water bodies through galamsey, so should someone from the media lead this CRUSADE. We have had enough of the OWUSU BEMPAHs. BOYCOTT, BOYCOTT, BOYCOTT!!!
Do not cross the boundary Owusu Bempah, stay with your Christian folks and your prophecies. If you dare again bring any Muslim into your occult practices, we will deal with you drastically. We have the most deep rooted practicing Muslims who are well versed in the Quran and can for tell accurately what will happen in future. But they humble themselves rather than seeking public adulations. Next time we will teach you a bitter lesson you will never forget in your entire life. A word to the wise is enough.
What is the motive in releasing prophesies about death? What does Rev. Owusu gain from these prophesies? Why is his target, our leaders.Christians are progressive people and churches like the Catholic, Presbyterian,Methodist, etc. are busy supporting communities with water, education, health, etc. facilities. What are Ghanaians gaining from this man.The Christian Council should bring him to order.
John the Baptist and prophet Nathan had similar messages to their respective Kings. The way the messages were presented by each of them had different responses and outcomes. Let us apply WISDOM to worshiping God!
Sir use wisdom in your prophecies, it seems you lack that aspect.
irresponsible talk. he should know better
I hate these so-called prophesies. What is special in predicting the death of 80+ years elderly? But vandalism should be condemned outright. I don't blame them; they're easily used
My question is, are you saying, God works and reveal things only on 31st December. What is Christlike about what you are doing? What is your motivation of the tension you are bringing into the counter? Is death the only dreaded thing in life, and thus so important to get all the attention? If so, that means that, we must get all the fame, wealth and power, because death is the end of everything. Is this perception of a sound doctrine or a heresy? Death is part of life's stages, and Hezekiah who is always used as an example died finally. Life on earth is a transition to a better place, and if as a Christian, you fear death because of your fame, wealth and power, then you have a "BIG PROBLEM". According to Paul, if fame, wealth and power on this earth are our only hope, then we are the most pathetic creatures on earth as Christians.
