A deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ruth Seddoh has said the irate Muslim youth who attacked and destroyed Church properties of Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah were rather too peaceful and could have done more.
The NDC Youth leader is, therefore, recommending special training from Afghanistan for all Muslims in Ghana because such a training “will help them a great deal”.
Angry Zongo youth (believed to be mostly Muslims) in Accra yesterday afternoon stormed the church premises of Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah over his prophesy that National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu will die this year.
The cutlass-wielding youth numbering about 15 were seen breaking the church billboards at the entrance of the Odorkor Branch and shouting insults at Owusu Bempah in the Hausa language. They vowed to teach him a lesson for “touching their Imam”, brandishing cutlasses as they thronged into the church.
They entered the church and destroyed church properties. Reacting to the development, Ruth Seddoh who is NDC Deputy National Youth Organizer said the conduct of the Muslim Youth was rather peaceful.
“Anokwa, Ghanaian Muslims are too peaceful. Some training from Afghan will help a great deal” she wrote.
Chief Imam begs Youth
The National Chief Imam has reacted to the news of the attacks. He called on Muslims in Ghana to refrain from attacking the leader of Glorious Word Ministry, Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah.
According to him, “we are living in peace with fellow Christians and other religion so let’s maintain that relationship. Leave him with his character and forgive him. As for death every soul shall taste it either today or tomorrow so no need to attack the man”.
“Please leave him and forgive him, I am begging you, I am begging you,” he added.

Waa look at the kind of people we have in Gh politics. The problem is she may end up being a minister of state one day. Sad!!!
MADAM RUTH ndc AFGHANISTAN.
I THINK YOU DON'T HAVE A CHARACTER TO HOLD THAT POSITION IN Ghana politics.shame on you for making shambolic statement if i may ask you in person is it about NPP and NDC PROPHECY or about individual? substandard.let me tell u we need peace in Ghana and some of the directions and the ways of God does not make sense in human perspective.
if you were nota s-t-u-pid puta would you say a thing like that? It behoves the people of Ghana to make this party of misfits totally irrelevant.Look at the man the prophesy was directed at. He is such a peaceful lovely man. What did he say? This is what maturity is all about. There does not seem to be a single wise person in the NDC.Whiles not being a fan of these doomsday pastors if everybody took the law into their own hands where would this prosti be?
YOU SEE HOW ***barred word*** SOME PPL ARE, THESE ARE SOME OF THE REASON SOME OF US DONT WANT TO BE PART OF THE NDC,EXECUTIVES OF THE PARTY SHOULD WAKE UP
Coming events cast their shadows. Ghanaians should be careful when they vote in 2020.
Look at your kind . Do you have to support wrong ??? a leader indeed
It is about time our NDC party stop this profiling us the Moslem youth as hooligans. We are disappointed that you continue to give us bad name and smear our hard work with violence at a time that we are seeking to elevate us to be able to contend with the knowledge society not violent one. It is a shame that we have a deputy national youth organizer have such low thoughts of us. We only hope that it represents Ruth Seddoh's person thoughts and not an extension of thoughts of the lot at the Communication Team. What a shame!
Ghana is not a jungleeee. It is a country of rule of law which the President and the executive, the Parliament the Judicially, the Security Services and all citizens must protect. In this Owusu Bempah Saga, those who embarked on the attack on persons and destruction of properties must be sought to face the law. If they think their rights and freedom were infringed upon they should report the matter to the appropriate authorities for redress. What the Muslim Youth did was brutishhh and uncivilized. On the other hand, Owusu Bempah must also be arrested and charged for embarking on action which was potential to incite to cause violence and indeed it did cause fear tension and violence. We expect the police, the Courts Parliament, the Presidency and all in Ghana to be up-and-coming in this 2019 to avoid senselesss disorder in the country. The whole world, especially, Africa is looking to Ghana with hope and we should not disappoint them. Fr.POP
