This week, Nabil Makram Basbous, a 61-year-old Lebanese Consular General and Head of Mission of Estonia to Ghana was successfully rescued after some Nigerians abducted him.
Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, DSP Efia Tenge this current trend of crime in the country smacks of a cause for alarm.
“We have to come together and whatever position that comes from the security enforcement agencies we will make that known. For now, it is very worrying for us to be experiencing this trend of crime in this part of the country at this particular point in time. But whenever we come with any plan, and we have to get all of you informed what actions we have to take, we will make that known.”
