Rebecca Quayson, an elder sister to one of the three kidnapped girls in Takoradi, claims the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Boss, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has asked them to stop granting interviews to the media concerning the case.
According to her, the CID Boss reportedly spoke angrily during a telephone conversation with her mother warning them to cease speaking to the press. Thereafter, the latter, in compliance, asked her (Rebecca Quayson) to stop granting interviews to radio and television stations.
". . but after waiting for a while without any positive response as to the whereabout of the girls, I can’t keep quiet anymore. We need to know where they are because they (CID) claim they know where the girls are but can't give us any assurance," she told Peace FM.
Rebecca further indicated that the families of the three kidnapped girls will come to Accra on Tuesday, 2nd May, 2019 to inquire from the CID Boss what exactly is going on since "after her press conference, we have not seen the girls nor heard anything positive; no one is telling us anything."
She spoke to Nana Yaw Kesseh, sit-in host of Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Tuesday.
Background
It has been almost nine months since three girls from Diabene, a town in Sekondi-Takoradi, went missing.
The first victim, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, a third-year student of the University of Education, Winneba, was reported missing by her parents in August.
On December 4, 2018, the second girl, Ruth Love Quayson,18, a Senior High School graduate, was also reported missing.
The third, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 16-year-old student of Sekondi College (SEKCO), was also reported missing on December 21,2018.
The missing girls were later confirmed to have been kidnapped after their kidnapper demanded ransom.
A Nigerian, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, 28, who was arrested as a prime suspect, is still in custody.
At a press conference in Accra, the Director General of CID, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah announced that the police had identified the location of the missing girls.

When the angry families finish granting interviews to radio and TV stations, they should follow those journalists to find their children for them. They are behaving like the MENZGOLD investors who blame government after investing thir own monies.
At least Madam we know the prez did not appoint you on merit but please don't display your crass competence like that. Wa bon dodo
What do Ghanaians expect. If I may ask, is the CID boss interested in only doing the bidding of those who put her there? Also she has to talk to the Minister and Deputy Ministers for Gender, Children & Social Protection to rather ***barred word***.
I am a die hard NPP but seriously this woman is an apology of a professional policing, one of the worst promotion and appointment Nana Addo has made so far.
If you consider how many senior officers were bypassed by nana addo for this young woman as the CID boss, one can conclude that she was appointed to do the bidding of the Npp, that is why anything outside his political mandate is frustrating her. Look at how fast she has processed ofosu ampofo to court and left rev owusu bempah walking free, but for her civil mandate of protecting Ghanaians she is trying to gag the family of the kidnapped girls. She still thinks kidnapping is also a political business so the family cannot talk. This is how nana addo has selected so many lousy persons to work for him. The same woman told A PLUS to keep quiet in order not to bring nana addo's government down. What good can such a tainted lady bring Ghanaians.
