The media have been tasked to provide honest and unbiased information on the electoral systems, processes and candidates in the District Assembly and Unit Committee elections, to be held on 3rd March this year.
The Executive Secretary of the National Media Commission, George Sarpong made the call at a workshop on improving the quality of information in the electoral process for the media in Kumasi.
He noted that the duty of the journalist is to serve the citizenry and not their preference.
Mr Sarpong said voters rely on the media for accurate information on candidates while the candidates in turn rely on the media to communicate accurate information about themselves for the voter to make informed decisions.
