President of the National Association of Head Potters, Adiza Zongo Pioneer, has rebuffed reports that over 5000 of her associates are gearing up to take to the streets should Parliament fail to approve the nomination of Ms. Otiko Afisa Djaba as Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister.
In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Adiza Zongo Pioneer posited that members of her association are not interested in marring the early administration of President Nana Akufo-Addo by staging demonstrations that could have negative bearing on government.
According to her, just like other minister designates who have had to justify themselves before the vetting committee, Ms. Otiko Afisa Djaba, should be given the space to do same.
Livid head potters from the three northern region have accused the Minority of personal vendetta.
They could not fathom why someone who has their interest at heart is being frustrated especially by Members of Parliament from the north.
They maintained Otiko Djaba’s appointment to the Gender Minister is a dream come true since according to them, she has their interest at heart.
But their president maintains that any needless demonstration now would be a form of stampede on Parliament and speak bad about the NPP.
The nomination of the minister designate is currently in shambles and has been stalled following concerns raised by minority members on the Appointment Committee of Parliament.
Her failure to perform her national service coupled with certain descriptions she gave to former President Mahama, has been the bane of her life.
During Otiko’s vetting session which was aired on national television, she refused to apologize for calling the former president a "wicked" and "evil person" who did not have the people of the North at heart.
When the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrissu inquired from her whether she has regretted making those comments, a resolute Madam Djaba stood by them claiming that her comments were critical descriptions of the ex-president and not insults.
And the only lifeline the minority has offered her is for her to render an unqualified apology to former President John Mahama for passing comment that deem insalubrious about him.
As the issue continues to drag on, the Majority has had to reschedule her approval to Tuesday and is determined to approve her by majority decision if the Minority fails to approve her by consensus.

NOBODY IS ASKING YOU TO DO THAT. IT IS RATHER DISGUSTING TO ISSUE SUCH A STATEMENT. HOW WELL WOULD YOU EXPECT TO WORK WITH HER WHEN YOU PLACE YOURSELF AGAINST HER, IN CASE SHE GETS THE NOD.
NDC, Parliamentarians fear this woman too much why? There will be no PEACE for them.
