The governments of Ghana and Equatorial Guinea on Friday marked another milestone in their relations by laying wreath in honour of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first President at his mausoleum in Accra.

The laying of the wreath was in connection with the ongoing centenary celebrations of Dr Nkrumah's birth.

Mr K.D Dankwa, Deputy National Security Co-ordinator laid a wreath on behalf of the government of Ghana, while Mr Julian Ondo Nkumu, Equatorial Guinean Deputy Minister of National Security laid one on behalf of his government.

In a brief comment, Mr Dankwa described the ceremony as a significant milestone in the history of the two countries, adding that it would go a long way to strengthen the already cordial bilateral relations.

Speaking through an interpreter, Mr Nkumu said apart from laying the wreath in honour of Dr Nkrumah, which was important to his country, the delegation was also in the country to explore other areas of co-operation with Ghana for mutual benefits.

Prior to laying of the wreath, Dr Don Arthur, a Presidential Staffer took the dignitaries round the mausoleum to observe some of the items there.
