National Organizer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, says he sees nothing wrong if the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) chooses to fondle someone's wife and NDC Communicators make an issue out of it.
Addressing activists and sympathizers of the party in Twi at the "Mammoth Rally" currently underway at Mantse Agboena, the soft-spoken Yaw Boateng-Gyan took a dig at Nana Addo following the infamous alleged "groping" of a GTV make-up artist in a documentary by Jareth Merz in his feature movie - An African Election', and wondered how the NDCs assessment of Nana Addo's character could be described as heaping insults on him.
"...if Nana Addo fondles someone on television and the NDC decide to talk about it, can that be classified as an insult?...when you go on-air, simply address issues bothering on the achievements of the government," he said.
The NDC National Organizer, who reiterated his abhorrence of the politics of insults, however, denied ever asking the NPP to pardon NDC members who have subjected Nana Akufo-Addo to verbal abuse, as reported by some media houses.
Perhaps, inspired by the number of party faithfuls at the rally, Yaw Boateng-Gyan also slammed the opposition NPP who claimed the lives of ordinary Ghanaians have not been transformed, despite the 'Better Ghana Agenda' being espoused by the ruling party.
"...if some people say they cannot see the developments in the country then they are just simply refusing to see it...if you force yourself to close your eyes to the infrastructural development taking place then it could happen that you might go blind...," he added.
Whiles advising party members who are 18 years and above and are eligible to register to take part in the biometric voter registration exercise which begins next Saturday, he cautioned against double registration and minors taking part in the exercise.
