A 44-year-old marketer; Daniel Kwesi Ashiamah has won the primary to contest the Buem by-election on the ticket of the NDC.
The Buem seat became vacant after the death of the MP, Henry Ford Kamel on Christmas day last year.
There were fears the primaries might not come off after a member of the party secured a court injunction restraining the party from holding the primaries after aide to former President Rawlings, Kofi Adams was disqualified.
Citi FM witnessed the primaries and reported that the atmosphere was very cordial; all the losing candidates pledged their support for the winner.
A cross-section of the people [delegates] that we interviewed were not really worried about whether or not Mr. Kofi Adams was part of the contest; for them it wasnt an issue at all, he added.
