It has emerged that Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is not the owner of some 53 Tipper Trucks as earlier speculated by some sections of the media.
Kwabena Owiredu, a Kasoa- based businessman has come out openly to state that he is the exclusive owner of the tipper trucks which has the inscription, I See, written on them.
He categorically stated that he is not in any joint-venture agreement with the NDC Chief Scribe.
I am the sole owner of the 53 trucks. I own a company called I see block factory and construction works. I acquired some of the trucks through the help of my bankers. I have never met Asiedu Nketia face-to-face before except perhaps on television. I have never spoken to him and I doubt if he knows who I amIm so surprised by these allegations being made.
I am not a politician. Neither am I a member of the NDC nor the NPP so I dont know why I am being linked to a politician. I am shocked, Mr. Owiredu explained on NEAT FM.
This comes on the heels of a declaration by Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito that he would have any property linked to him destroyed if the true owners do not publicly come out to make to speak to the issue.
General Mosquito recently won a GHC 250, 000 libel suit after the Daily Guide reported that he owned a huge mansion in the Ashanti Region. He told Adakabre Frimpong Manso in an exclusive interview that he had to go to the extent of instructing the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to pull the building down if NPP activists claim it belong to him, before the rightful owners surfaced with genuine documents to prove ownership.
The NDC Chief Scribe then vowed not to burden himself running around to exonerate himself the next time any such allegations are made, but to simply order for the destruction of the said property associated to him.
Perhaps, it is for this reason that Kwabena Owiredu felt it was important to speak out on the issue to prevent the destruction of the 53 tipper trucks he has toiled to acquire over the years.
