Bernard Mornah, General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC) has sent a goodwill message to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the party's Special Congress on Sunday.
The NPP will hold a Special Electoral College on August 31, 2014 to screen the seven candidates contesting for the party's flagbearership by pruning the number down to five.
The contestants include Mampong MP Francis Addai Nimoh; Asuogyaman MP Kofi Osei Ameyaw; Former Trades Minister Alan Kyeremanten, Essikado-Ketan MP Joe Ghartey; Former Trade and Industry Minister Dr.Kofi Konadu Apraku, 2012 flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo and Former Information Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng.
The Electoral Commission (EC) will superintend the elections which will commence at 8 am and end at 3 pm; as the delegates cast their votes to elect five candidates for the flagbearership slot.
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Bernard Mornah appealed to the NPP to allow unity to reign supreme in the elections.
He wished the NPP well and hoped they sail through the Special Congress devoid of violence.
The elections will take place in all ten regions of the country with about 787 delegates expected to cast their votes.
