A pro-government group calling itself the Organised Youth of Ashanti (OYA) on Tuesday held a march in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, to celebrate the ‘numerous’ achievements of President John Dramani Mahama.
The aim of the march was to gather one million votes for President Mahama in the Ashanti Region during the 2016 presidential elections.
The march according to members of OYA was also to contradict the numerous criticisms from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the Mahama-led administration has not achieved anything.
The NDC footsoldiers carried various placards indicating what the ruling NDC administration has achieved so far.
Some of the placards say: “500 bed military hospital; JM all the way”, “Akok) Sakyer3 Akoroma aa…”, “Four More 4 JM” and so on.
