Aspiring General Secretary of the People's National Convention Atik Mohammed says there's no hope under the current administration.
Speaking on Peace FM’s "Kokrokoo", Atik Mohammed criticized the ever increasing borrowing nature of the Mahama-led government.
According to him, the frequent borrowing by government is the basis for the economic challenges confronting the Ghanaian citizenry.
He said the government's borrowing attitude has been strangling the economy and affects the value of the Ghana's currency.
“We have not well managed our economy…Frankly speaking, there’s no hope. My problem is that they keep insisting on borrowing and borrowing. But that is the problem that is disturbing our economy now…The loan addition is just too hard to comprehend.”
Speaking in relation to the mid-year budget review statement delivered by Finance Minister Seth Tekper before Parliament on Tuesday, Atik Mohammed called on the government to draw limits on her borrowing in order not to raise the country's deficit.
