The opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] is very optimistic of winning the November 7 presidential polls despite questions raised on the voters’ register.

The party’s Communications Director, Nana Akomea says his party would want to win the polls in a “free and fair” election.

He continued with his party’s stance that they want a credible register for this year’s elections – according to him, their call for a register that is reliable and credible does not reside on the party’s fortunes but a matter of principle.

“If we want to win elections, we won’t do that in a fraudulent way. The fact that we want to win the elections doesn’t mean that if the register is not credible we should keep quiet. We are very sure of winning the election but things must be done in a right way,” he said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie'

Nana Akomea noted that, there is no doubt that the voters’ register is hopelessly bloated and therefore, not fit for the purpose of an election.
