Managing Editor of The Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has refused to accept claims that the alleged attempted bribery of the minority is a rumour.
He categorically stated that details relating to the raising of the money and its delivery were revealed by a member of parliament - belonging to the camp of NPP - to some members of the minority.
An alleged bribery scandal was disclosed by Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku central while granting an interview on Radio Gold. He indicated that an amount of GHC 3000 was presented to him by Minority Chief Whip and MP for Asawase Hon. Muntaka Mubarak as "bribe" to facilitate the approval of Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko.
The allegation also has it that the money was given to Hon. Muntaka by chairman of the Appointments Committee, Joe Osei-Wusu on behalf of Boakye Agyarko.
However, the Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko and Chairman of the Committee Joe Osei-Wusu have both denied the allegations and threatened legal action.
Speaking on Joynews flagship program today, Hon. Mutaka rubbished the bribery claims by his colleague on the minority side, Mahama Ayariga. He also expressed surprise at the conduct of the Bawku Central MP.
Mahama Ayariga on the other hand insists the allegations are true and he’s willing to put his integrity on the line to prove the veracity of the alleged bribery.
Speaking on Radio Gold’s Saturday morning current affairs program, Alhaji and Alhaji, Kwesi Pratt asserted that he received credible information from some MPs he interacted with to the effect that they had received some money to facilitate the approval of Energy Minister.
He revealed that the money was returned because of the involvement of an untrusted NPP MP in raising and delivering the funds.
“I have spoken to several members of parliament and one of them tells me that a member of parliament from the other side called him and told him that he helped to mobilise that money for payment to be done in other to approve Boakye Agyarko, and that’s what raised the alarm… and the reason why they raised the alarm had to do with the character of the MP who claimed to have raised those monies. They couldn’t trust him.”
The veteran journalist also questioned the procedure by parliament in paying monies due MPs. He called for a proper system to be put in place to ensure that there are no loopholes for bribery and corruption.
He advocated for a full scale investigation into the matter to unravel all the facts surrounding the issue and make things clearer.

I see some of our leaders as jockers and cowards!
This man is just causing problem for Ghana. If indeed he is neutral, why did he not condemn the 'Mahama Ford' and 'Mahama Bugri Naabu's' bribes. Ghanaians should now see him as an NDC man hiding behind his populist outbursts.
The NDC had a meeting to tag Nana Addo's Government with Corruption within first 100 days in the office. This is really on course for them able supported by Kwesi Pratt the man with no wisdom. Not surprise that Okudzato choosed Nii Lantey as witness because he knows credible ones as Muntaka won't fall forthis. But the secrete is out because you guys are not smart enough hence the use of vetting angle. Any Ghanaian brains can tell that NDC minority could not in a million years stop Agyarko from becoming the minister so where lies the wisdom to bribe? It's a big lie and it won't hold. Mr Sharp Teeth Okudzato is being pushed with this but what he's forgetting is that he's with Woyome in the loot and share activity. Ab3n B3 Bom.
W hy did n't Kwesi Pratt name the majority mp? You see these lies sent ndc to opposition and it will send some of their mps back home by impeachment. My advise to the NPP MPs is,they need to be very careful about these people in the ndc they dealing with, they are dealing with evil dwarfs and shouldn't allow them to have their way. When it comes to processes to impeach them do not accept any plea from any quarters, repeat do not accept any plea from anyone being it a King, chief or
Lets treat this issue carefully, if truly the man tried to bribe then we should not let him the position. This is how curruption starts. NDC did this and we have seen their end.
Kwasi give us a break. After creating, sharing and ***barred word*** with NDC, you have the gust to accuse someone. Where did you get money to buy the vehicles you and your family were using. Please give us a break si bo glass. Exccccccccccuse me!
So now Kwesi Pratt says some majority members of parliament mobilized the money on be halve of the nominee.... so assuming without admitting that Kwesi Pratt is saying is factual ...then how can Agyarko be accused of offering bribe....????
The Kwasi Pratt we knew sometime ago to be honest has now turned to be a defender for NDC. In fact am tempted to believe that he receives something from NDC for this unscrupulous reportage. If you a man and can do Ghanaians a favour mention the name of the MP they cannot trust and those MPS you spoke to
I don't want to believe MPs are so desperate to accept 3000GH as bribe.more than their monthly allowance.Shine your eyes evil man
Ei! Master where is Wayomi's MONEY?
